People who have blackout window blinds always have the question of how to clean and maintain their window blinds pristine and clean.  So how do you clean your blinds? You need to know how to clean your window blinds. There are so many ways on how you can clean your window coverings or treatments. Don’t you hate when it comes to point where you cannot stand the dust accumulating and getting in the way of your breathing?  This is when you need to something about it.

There are different types of window blinds and therefore they should be treated accordingly.

For vinyl and aluminum types of window blinds, you won’t have any problem as these are easy to clean with conventional way of cleaning. You can simply use vacuum cleaner that has the necessary attachments or water and soap. This are very simple way of cleaning this particular type of window treatments or blinds. In most cases, with blackout window blinds you might be able to clean less of the time as they are almost always close since you use it to darken the room.

Another way of cleaning is by using a duster or swifter products which are readily found in your favorite grocery or drug and cleaning stores.

For wood blinds, you have to use different way of cleaning them.  You cannot use the same as mentioned above. For wood blinds you do not like them to change their texture, feature and look. What you need to have or use to clean it is a duster to simply dust it off. Or for some type of wooden blinds, you can use a very smooth cloth and dampen it very lightly to prevent to much moist to preserved the elegance and beauty of the wood blinds. They are best cleaned when they flat or still hanging.

Before you hang your blackout window blinds, you have to ensure that the window is free of dust and is very clean. You may also need to ensure that your just cleaned blackout window blinds are free of any moist or damp as this can easily collect dust.
