Another idea is to use wallpaper, cutting strips to match the size of the louvers and gluing them on. Some have had success dying their fabric blinds, but caution is advised if this method is used as the fabric may shrink in the water.
To clean vertical blinds, always leave them hanging where they are. Using the brush attachment, vacuum the blinds regularly in a downward motion, from top to bottom. Follow up by using a duster made of lamb’s wool, wiping in the same downward motion. For tougher build-up of dirt and grime, wipe firmly with a rubber dry sponge.
