With the recent 50 million recall in the US of Roman Shade and Roll Up Blinds, it seems to be the beginning of the end of these lines of products. The demise of Roman Shade and Roll Up Blinds is imminent? Well this writer doesn’t believe so.
The hazards that these products are associated with can easily be fixed. The sales of these units may definitely be affected because of the news and scared people would tend to shy away from it. This blinds window coverings are not bad and will be out on the market with a better kind.
But the fact of the matter is these are great products except for the dangers of the cords pose to small children. Now that the industry is correcting it and have even posted a kit to fix the problem, it will not mean the end for this line of products.
These normally cheap and if you are sensible enough or have common sense, even before the reported hazards hit the news stand or television news channels, a responsible parent should have known that those cords has to be lifted or beyond the reach of small children.
This is NOT the demise of these two well known products – Roman shade and roll up blinds. These window blinds and shades are great and good window treatments and coverings will stay on the market with a better and more children friendly product.
